69er's 60th Birthday Party in the "Burg"

Last night we celebrated the fact that everyone in our high school class is turning 60!!  We had a nice turn out and a good time was had by all.  It sure doesn't seem like we are 60, just seems like yesterday we were all getting our licenses.  Time flies when you are having fun or something like that!!!

This picture is a gift from Jen & Beau. They made this themselves and we were totally unaware.

1. The 1971 is on a rock in our familyroom that Jason & Jana had given to us on another anniversary

2. The "S" is from the front of Galesburg High School (whole family graduated from there)

3, The "H" is from a wind chime on our deck that we got when my Dad passed away

4. The "A" is the Clemson Tiger Paw symbol on the front of one of John's hats

5. The "Y" is our dog Trey's dog tag upside down (Trey is 14 yrs. old and not doing so well so we will have this to rememer him)

6. The last picture is a black dog tag John wears with his 3 boys names on it

40th Anniversary Party

We celebrated our 40th Anniversary with family and friends last night. It couldn't have been a better time. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and great friends. We just wish Jas and his family could have been here. Thanks to everyone!!! :D

WHIRLWIND TRIP!!

John and I flew to NYC on Thurs. June 30. Got in La Guardia at 2:00 pm. Went to Beau's graduation ceremony from residency at 6:30. Got on the road at 11:00 pm with Beau & Jen's stuff drove 5 hrs. to PA, back on the road at 10:00 am. Got to IL at 7:00 pm July 1st. On the road 15 hrs. In 29 total hrs. we did all that!!!! Hope I recover by the time it is time to go to Vegas.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to my Dad who I couldn't of had a better one.  This is the man who dyed my gloves to match my prom dress.  Who Never missed anything I was involved in.  Who walked me down the aisle 40 years ago.  Who loved his grandchildren with all his heart.  Who taught me that it was important to be a good person.  Who loved my mother so much and taught me how to love my spouse.  I miss you so much Dad but you are always with me in my heart.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to the father of my children, John E. Shay.  Whose sons think the world of him.  Who has ALWAYS been there for them.  Who they call when they need advise.  Who they got their tender heart from.  Who taught them to be the best they can be.  I am blessed to have chosen you for my spouse and the father of my children.
