YIPPEE CUBS WIN, CUBS WIN

What a game the Cubs beat the Brewers for the 2nd straight night, 7-1 last night. Zambrano was on fire and my boy Jeff Samardzija came in and did a great job in relief in the 9th. I have been a fan of Samardzija since he played at Notre Dame. What an athlete, some of his catches in football were incredible. You can't beat a great athlete!! GO CUBS!!!

GO CUBS GO!!

GO CUBS GO, GO CUBS GO, HEY CHICAGO WHAT WHAT-A-YA SAY, THE CUBS ARE GOING TO WIN TODAY!!!

How 'bout those Cubs taking the first game in the Cubs/Brewer series. Got my fingers crossed they win tonight with Zambrano on the mound. At least if we win tonight the worse we could do is split the series which will keep us ahead of them in the standings. I love it!!!

GALESBURG'S VETERAN'S MEMORIAL

Galesburg has established the nicest Veteran's Memorial in Lincoln Park. Mom recently had a brick made up for our Dad. They have done such a beautiful job on this that I am going to share some pictures of it. Thank you to all of the men and women who have served and are currently serving. THANK YOU!!!!!

SUMMER FUN

Summer is such a great time of year, isn't it. We do so much with family and friends. This past week I went golfing with my friends, Cindy, Wendy & Erin. Well, truthfully I drove the golf cart and watched. It was so beautiful on the course and the night was perfect. They golfed at the Monmouth Country Club. Nice little place. Then our friend Marlys joined us and we all went to dinner. A nice evening with friends.

I went for lunch on Saturday with some classmates of mine. Mary Eyre-Cerkez, Susie Tolle (Haynes), Kathy Kopsack (Harpole) and Carol Crouch (Cates) at Roosters. It is always so much fun getting together with those girls. It is like we are still in high school, laughing, joking, talking intensely. It is the absolute best!!!!

John and I were bored this weekend so we went and bought a new van. A Kia Sedona. It is navy as you can see, with a sunroof, DVD player (for the grand kids of course) and leather seats. I guess that is about it. I know we will enjoy it as we have our other van. John will now drive the old van and finally, I say finally retire the "good ole" Honda Accord.

A WEEK OF FUN WITH THE GRANDKIDS

It has been an incredible week with Jason's family and Zach. We had such fun times with the grandchildren. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family (WE MISSED BEAU AND JEN TERRIBLY HOWEVER).

Aunt Debbie and I took Peija and Joah to Discovery Depot, Lincoln Park, swimming at Soangataha and then a big family gathering on the night before they left.

Nathan, Carly and Logan all made it down from Chicago, so that was so nice to have them here as well. They of course joined us for the big dinner and our friends Cindy and Tim Gray did as well.
