A VISIT TO MISSISSIPPI TO SEE OUR FOOTBALL COACH

Last Thursday we left for Mississippi to visit Zach and go to the Homecoming game at Alcorn State. Unfortunately the Braves lost 30-29. It was a good game but as we all know it is never fun to lose. But of course the best and most important part of the trip was seeing Zach. We got to spend some time with him on Friday night and then of course after the game on Saturday. But it was back to work for him on Sunday so we started home.

My good friend Cindy Gray went with us and it was fun having her along. She is the most positive person I know along with the biggest heart ever. She is so supportive of our entire family. There could never be any better friend than Cindy. You are the best girl, I love ya.

This was our crazy guy at walk-through on Friday - don't ever change son
Now that is a good looking guy

WEDDING BELLS ARE GOING TO RING

Beau's longtime friend Zach Davis is getting married November 2nd to Katie Radcliffe at a destination wedding. We will join them for the reception in Chicago on November 8th. It will be loads of fun and we can't wait. Let the festivities begin!!

Last Sunday I went to a shower for Katie at Marla McGinn's. Marla and Karen Lufkin put on a sit down luncheon and it was not only lovely but the food was heavenly. Katie got so many nice gifts. Here's to a lifetime of happiness Zach and Katie!!!

THESE CHICKS WERE FINE IN '69 BUT THEY ARE GREAT IN 2008!!!

Today I had the pleasure of having lunch with 4 of my classmates at the Landmark. Whenever any of us from the class of '69 get together it is like time hasn't passed by at all, it is always so much fun. We ramble on about old times and share experiences of today. We talk about our grandchildren and looking forward to retirement, or for those who have already taken the big step, how much they are enjoing it. But the most important thing we do is L A U G H!!! I know everyone thinks their class was the best, but I think you would have to look long and hard to find a better, funnier and more genuine group of people. Thanks guys and gals for all my memories.

~ THE BIG BOY GETS PROMOTED ~

John has been promoted in his job with Platinum Services Inc. to Team Leader Illinois. In case you don't know John sells cancer, heart and stroke policies. They work mainly in farming communities. They work long hard hours, usually starting at 8:00 am and finishing around 10:00 pm Mon.-Thurs. John has always worried about and taken care of his family while he sits back and watches and enjoys what his sons have accomplished. However, his sons all know they wouldn't be where they are today without "good ole dad." Now honey it is your time to shine in the spotlight. We are all very proud of you. And thanks for all you do for us!! Love you! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grandpa and his precious grandchildren.

HOMECOMING HAS ARRIVED

Homecoming is always so much fun. Young people all excited about the evening ahead of them. Friends, pictures, dinner and then the big dance. They can't wait for it all to begin. And you can't help but be sucked into their enthusiasm. It is just weird not knowing any of the kids anymore. I really did feel like a grandma tonight instead of a mom.
